My true passion was to be a musician; not an actor – Kofi Adjorlolo

Fri. 13 Jun, 2025 | Entertainment: Veteran actor Kofi Adjorlolo has revealed that acting was never his original ambition—his true passion has always been music.

Veteran actor Kofi Adjorlolo has revealed that acting was never his original ambition—his true passion has always been music.

In a candid conversation on THE LIZ SHOW, Adjorlolo shared that during his childhood, his exceptional musical talent led many to believe he would pursue a career in music. He reminisced about his early beginnings, starting trumpet lessons at just eight years old, a skill that eventually allowed him to perform alongside legendary artists such as Gyedu Blay Ambolley and Sir Victor Uwaifo.

"I loved music so much that, by the age of eight, I could already play the trumpet remarkably well," he disclosed.

Despite his achievements in acting, Adjorlolo voiced concerns about the struggles actors in Ghana face, emphasizing the industry's lack of support and proper insurance for professionals. He admitted that due to these challenges, he wouldn’t encourage his children to pursue a career in acting.

"Honestly, I wouldn’t advise my children to go into acting. The current state of the industry in Ghana is neither encouraging nor sustainable for young people. Do we even have insurance to protect our actors and actresses?" he questioned.
